Congressional
Testimony Congressional Hearing: Comprehensive Medical Care
for Bioterrorism Exposure
By: H. Reg McDaniel, M.D.
On November 14, 2001, H. Reg McDaniel, M.D. was invited as an expert witness
to appear before the United States House of Representatives, Committee
on Government Reform. The investigation was entitled: Comprehensive
Medical Care for Bioterrorism Exposure: Are we Making Evidence Based Decisions?
What are the Research Needs?
This packet contains:
A brief introductory statement with exhibits that condense the submitted
testimony and scientific data provided into a compact summary.
An expanded scientific data narrative with examples of experiments showing
that glyconutrients boost the level of innate body defenses by enhancing
the synthesis of cytokines that are designed to protect the body from
all infectious agent.
A question and answer section with exhibits that emphasize the general
health promoting capacity of micronutrients with an emphasis on the biochemistry
of glyconutrients.
A basic science research proposal that is projected to demonstrate that
glyconutrients will prevent and reverse damage from anthrax and small
pox infections, as this group of micronutrients have in other experiments
with virulent bacteria and viral agents. It is hypothesized that infectious
agents designed for bioterrorism have been selected and developed to thwart
mechanisms of the actions of pharmaceuticals, i.e. antibiotics. The micronutrient
activated and enhanced innate defense and ameliorative mechanisms are
totally different from the action of antibiotics. Thus, it may be feasible
to neutralize decades and many millions of dollars spent on military research
to make agents of bioterrorism. This may be achieved by using the micronutrient
technology alone or in combination with antibiotics that have limited
effectiveness, as evidenced by the recent deaths of individuals infected
through the US Mail System.
